About us

With an increasing number of unemployment, illiteracy and Unhealthy lifestyle in our areas, I2BA NPO was established to address these. I2BA NPO was initiated on the 15th of September 2018 and was registered officially with RSA Social Development as a Nonprofit organization on the 16th of October 2018, registration number 216-849NPO traceable on Social Development website.

BACKGROUND

Our chairperson, Thabani Chiya who is also the Centre Manager of an Adult Centre since 2004 in Isipingo became concern in 2017 as to what happens to people who completed ABET level 4. Most of them go back to their 'ordinary' life and this made him see that the centre is not making any impact in the community as expected.

He then approached Olivia Jalubane, who is also a Facilitator in the centre. To make it more community based, he also approached people from the community who responded positively and as a result I2BA NPO was initiated and was named after the centre ITHUBA AET Centre. Now working together I2BA NPO and Ithuba are doing all they can to make lives better.
